THE FUTURE OF ENVIRONMENTAL LAW: ENTERING THE ANTHROPOCENE

Some scientists hypothesize that human impact on the world is so great that we have entered a new geological epoch: the Anthropocene. Scientists debate whether humanity has yet had such a significant and lasting impact on the chemical composition of earth as to declare the Anthropocene. However, it is undeniable that human impact on the world is significant, lasting and possibly irreversible. For this reason, there is a need for urgent and innovative legal action. The landscape of environmental law is changing rapidly: The question is who, in the legal field, will step up, and make their mark?
